Summer Internships
Summer Internships
This summer (2012) is the fifth year that the Lakota Journey is supporting summer interns on the Rosebud and Pine Ridge Indian Reservations. Last summer four interns spent two months actively involved in ministries on the reservations. The goal of the summer internship is for college-age Christians, previously involved in the Lakota Journey, to prepare for the Lakota Journey in June, to become a part of the communities on the reservations, to further develop relationships, and to support pastors, churches, and those committed to permanent ministry on the reservations.
The 2011 interns were Bethany Mann, Sarah White, Charlotte Marshall, (all from Minnesota), and Laura Anderson (from Iowa).

“It was great to get to deepen all of my previous relationships on the reservation and see God work in new ways in the lives of these kids. I learned a lot this summer.”
-Glen Marshall
“The most exciting part of my summer was building relationships with local young adults. Working together at the summer recreation program, we did everything from swimming to eating to being tired together.”
-Jackie Enger
